Asst. Prof. Dr. Jure Kokalj

Jure Kokalj studies the electronic properties of materials and systems in which strong electronic correlations play an important role and also have significant potential for applications. Examples of such systems include high-temperature superconductors, spin liquids, thermoelectric materials, and experiments with cold atoms in optical lattices. To calculate various thermodynamic and transport quantities, he uses and develops advanced numerical methods with which he investigates the properties of quantum-mechanical models, which is crucial for understanding and predicting behavior observed in experiments.
